TeamKC Scouting Report | Shut up, that’s seriously amazing…

by Addie Linn | Dec 09, 2019

Shut up, that’s seriously amazing…
What to say when your BFF gets a promotion and also when city council unanimously agrees to eliminate bus fares. For real? YES. Kansas City just made major moves to become the first major metropolitan city offering free public transport. Time is necessary to work out important funding details, but if all runs smoothly the landmark decision could take effect as soon as June 2020.

When you’re in charge of the holiday cheese tray…
Your lack of chef skills may have landed you here, but you can show ‘em who’s boss with an enchanting, Pinterest-worthy charcuterie board. Need a place to start? The Pairing: Crossroads Wine and Grocer is a one-stop-shop for all of your wine and cheese needs - not to mention the vast selection of beers and spirits. Bonus: it doubles as your favorite new happy hour spot. Stop in for an afternoon wine flight and leave with all of the necessities to blow the cooks out of the kitchen.

Rum, Rum, Rudolph…
Not a typo we promise, this holiday season is gettin’ boozy. Last year we got a taste of the Christmas pop-up bar phenomenon with Miracle at Rockhill. This year, the pop-up is back at Rockhill and sporting a festive new location on the Country Club Plaza. In addition to these jolly establishments, KC is adding even more to the merry mix. Check out the tropical holiday vibes at Julep in Westport, magical Toyland within Crossroads Hotel and a witchy wonderland at Screenland Armour.

No time for that European vacation…?
Get a taste of the Mediterranean in your own backyard. Leawood is home to a brand-new, family-owned Greek restaurant, Páros Estiatorio. Settling in at Mission Farms, the joint is serving upscale, crave-worthy classics and few family recipes.
