What to say when your coworker is killing it …
“Yaaaasssss, Queen!” The cast of Netflix’s ‘Queer Eye’ has made its way to Kansas City. The Fab Five has landed to shoot season three of the hit show, making over individuals who may be “strugs to func” (that’s ‘struggling to function’ in QE lingo). The seemingly iconic group has been spotted all over town, prompting KC residents to be on high alert. Learn more about their path to the Paris of the Plains. Oh and while we’re at it, get a sneak peek at another popular show that will be set in 1950s KC … take a look.
If you need a staycation …
Hot hotels are popping up all over downtown. In addition to 21c, basically an awesome art gallery that happens to have hotel rooms in the historic Library District, the Crossroads Hotel KC is coming soon. With wallpapers and light fixtures designed by local KC makers, this spot has no shortage of homey touches. Don’t forget to hit up the bar that will feature whiskeys by local distiller, J. Reiger.
When you thought the soccer talk was over …
Nope, but this conservation may be worth having. The latest movement sweeping the KC nation is a petition to make our home the host of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. #Goals. You can be part of the movement by signing this petition.
KC got the bird …
But really, we did. The BIRD scooter that is… yes, the latest public transport craze to shake up the KC market. If you see a gaggle of business pros zipping through the streets just know that you too can be that cool. Download the app and fly off into the Midwestern sunset. Helmets recommended.
It is well with my soul …
My whole soul. This article from Inc.com claims that today’s workforce desires more than competitive pay and great benefits. Duh! But what do they desire? To be themselves fully in the workplace, otherwise known as “bringing your whole self to work.” Workers find this necessary in living a more holistic lifestyle, in which they don’t need to have two separate personalities for work and home life.
