Ask children between 8 and 12 years old what they want to do when they grow up and you’ll likely hear “veterinarian.” Based on anecdotal research, that’s what most people still associate with the industry today. While that’s certainly not a bad image, it is limiting. Do future leaders know the depth and breadth of opportunities behind animal health?

What if people have a limited view of the industry? It’s simple. With the demands on the industry now and in the future, we need the best and brightest recruits to join the ranks of animal health today. Currently, even those active in the industry stumble when trying to explain the complex ecosystem of animal health. We need to clear it up, so everyone in the industry is on the same page of this exciting story. If not, the industry risks falling short of meeting the demands of the future. Understandably, animal health as a business segment is different from an organizational brand, but the need to clearly represent this robust industry is just as important.

No other industry has more impact on the world than animal health. Toss all service and support businesses into the animal health bucket and it adds up. With 400 million pets in homes across America and over 10 billion food animals, this industry is a behemoth that creates indirect business to the tune of $600 billion.* It employs millions of people that come from many professions, including veterinary, transportation, shipping, retail, pharmaceutical, marketing, technology, legal, retail, machinery, academics, sciences and yes, even hospitality. By itself, this industry is vital to the American and global economies.

It's time to bring it!

Join us at the Animal Health Summit in Kansas City August 28-29 as we unveil the industry toolkit that will help us all tell the story of animal health. A story about protecting love and enriching life. Join the conversation and be part of building our industry’s brand.

Our key message is simple: join the industry.

Bring your innovations. Bring your technology. Bring your science. Bring your entrepreneurship. We’re ready for you. Bring it!
