by Emily McVey | Jan 19, 2022

Kerryann Kocher 2022The Animal Health Corridor is excited to welcome Kerryann Kocher, Chief Executive Officer of Vytelle, to the Corridor Board. Kerryann will serve as the voice of entrepreneurial companies ensuring that the strategic priorities of the Corridor support companies of all sizes.

Kocher was appointed as Vytelle's Chief Executive Officer in 2020. As leader of the precision livestock company, Kerryann has been key in the design and execution of Vytelle’s value proposition to improve the sustainability of the global beef and dairy industries through accelerated genetic progress.

Prior to her role as Vytelle’s CEO, Kerryann founded and led Rock Road Consulting, a boutique business consulting practice dedicated to animal agriculture and focused on helping clients translate their technology into meaningful value for farmers, ranchers, and producers. At Rock Road, Kerryann served a range of clients from multi-national animal health companies to venture capital firms and startups.

After graduating from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture education, Kerryann began her career at Elanco Animal Health where she held several roles spanning sales, marketing, and business unit leadership. She then joined Bayer Animal Health as the head of the U.S. food animal business, managing sales, technical, and marketing operations across all major protein species (beef, swine, poultry, dairy).

Kerryann grew up in Iowa on a progressive grain and livestock farm, still in operation today. She cannot imagine a world where family farming doesn’t exist and is passionate about ensuring it as a way of life for the future.

She is also passionate about entrepreneurship and sees early-stage startups as vital to our ecosystem, especially in the KC region. As Vytelle seeks to grow its footprint in the Midwest, Kerryann has had a front row seat to the challenges, needs, and experiences of an early-stage startup and brings her deep experience as a leader to bear in helping other companies navigate business growth and development.

Kerryann is excited about her role on the Corridor board and the opportunity to help establish best practices and benchmarks to help the animal health sector solve problems, innovate, and thrive.

She and her husband, Matt, have three children, five show pigs and reside in rural Kansas...on a rock road.
