International Automotive Supplier Selects KC for New Operating Facility

Martinrea Riverside LLC is expected to encompass 275,560-sq.-ft., and create up to 290 jobs

April 24, 2014 - RIVERSIDE, Mo.— Ontario, Canada-based MARTINREA INTERNATIONAL INC.has selected Riverside, Mo., as the location for a new full-service facility, Martinrea Riverside LLC, to supply the GM assembly plant in Fairfax, Kan. Martinrea Riverside LLC will operate in a 275,560-sq.-ft. facility, and create up to 290 new jobs.

“We are pleased to open our first facility in Missouri, in order to better serve our customers,” said Rocco Marinaccio, director of modular assembly. “We have received a warm reception from everyone, and we look forward to becoming a contributing member of the local community.”

Martinrea Riverside LLC will be located at 5233 NW 41st Street, in Riverside, and will operate four select processes: stamping, welding, e-coat and modular assembly.

“Martinrea’s selection of Riverside continues to prove what a prime location Riverside Horizons is for businesses in the automotive industry,” said Riverside Mayor Kathy Rose. “The location not only meets a variety of logistical needs, but a great synergy is starting to develop from having multiple tier one automotive suppliers all located in the same area.”

The Kansas City Area Development Council partnered with a number of regional organizations to attract Martinrea International, Inc., to the Kansas City region including the City of Riverside, Platte County Economic Development Council, Missouri Partnership, State of Missouri, Missouri Department of Economic Development, KCP&L, Crossland Construction Company, Inc., davidson architecture & engineering, Lee & Associates, Alliance Relocation Center, Aerotek, Inc., Metropolitan Community College, the Full Employment Council, Missouri Gas Energy and KC SmartPort.
