We’ve had an amazing time showing off KC to interns across the region this summer. As intern season comes to a close for many, we’re reflecting on the connections and impact made.

TeamKC's intern program helps early career professionals fall in love with Kansas City. The companies who took part in the program this year helped make this summer a huge success! Check out the impact we made together:  

• We provided KC Overview Presentations to more than 600 interns from across 23 companies.

• The KC Intern Bucket List was viewed 882 times by 374 individual users who, on average, explored three resources.

• KC Heartland emails were sent weekly with a 57% open rate to 363 interns who signed up for the communications.

• Intern Night at the K was a blast with more than 200 in attendance.

• Incredible partners including Chiefs Fit, KC Current, Sporting KC, Starlight, Royals and 3DHQ provided amazing prizes to a total of 32 winners throughout the summer, including fitness center passes, event tickets and KC swag.  

We asked interns what they thought of the program and here’s what we heard:

• They loved the emails and want even more text messages!

• Their favorite aspects were split between presentations, giveaways and networking opportunities.

• They got a ton of benefit out of the program, with feedback including “The presentation gave me a greater pride in being in Kansas City for the summer! I wish I could scoop up the city and take it back home. Thank you!” and “I was a huge fan and loved you guys!”

We loved spending the summer with your interns, too! Thank you to all the companies who signed up to show off KC. Whether from the region originally or just for the summer, we’re excited to see the interns again next year or as they launch their careers in KC.
