EVERGY INVESTS IN NEW NATURAL GAS PLANTS TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC GROWTH
Evergy announced its plans to build two new 705 megawatt (MW) combined-cycle natural gas plants in Kansas. The high-efficiency plants are expected to be in service in 2029 and 2030, and will provide flexible generation that pairs with the renewable resource potential in Evergy’s service area.
This significant investment in new capacity generation positions Kansas City to meet the growing electricity needs across the region.
