New CDL Training Facility Breaks Ground in Edgerton, KS

by Josie Calkins | Feb 07, 2024

Johnson County Community College (JCCC) broke ground on a new Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) training facility in Edgerton, Kansas. This development, featuring classrooms and outdoor practice areas, will address the growing need for certified drivers.

In the last year, 636 students completed Commercial Driver’s License training with JCCC, and it is anticipated that the completed facility, which will open summer 2024, will nearly double the number of students participating.

As the Kansas City region experiences sustained industrial growth, training facilities are essential to provide a skilled workforce pipeline to meet demand. JCCC's expansion highlights its commitment to workforce development and economic growth in the industrial sector.

Additional program details are available on the JCCC CDL program page.
