What is it about KC that inspires creativity in you?
I’m sure you get this all the time, but there are so many creative people here. I remember going on architecture tours of downtown Kansas City when I was younger. Working downtown now is really inspiring.

What is your favorite spot in Kansas City?
The River Market.

Where's your favorite place outside of Kansas City?
Washington, D.C. I really got into it a couple of years ago. There’s a direct flight from here to there and once you land, tons of free museums. I think it’s a great place to visit.

What's your most treasured possession?
A necklace that belonged to my brother.

Who's your favorite fictional hero?
Grand Admiral Thrawn, from Star Wars.

Who do you most admire in real-life?
Tyra Banks, she tries so hard and means so well – but she’s kind of crazy.

When and where are you happiest?
At home with my cats, Donald and James.
