Rosana Privitera Biondo welcomes Chuck Caisley as incoming co-chair

Kansas City Region
– This morning, the Kansas City Area Development Council officially named Rosana Privitera Biondo, president of Mark One Electric Company, as senior co-chair of the KCADC Board of Directors. Privitera Biondo led the KCADC Board of Directors in welcoming newly elected co-chair Chuck Caisley, vice president of marketing and public affairs for KCP&L, and 20 additional members for the 2016-17 board year.

“Kansas City is in the midst of an incredible economic resurgence,” said Privitera Biondo. “KCADC's commitment to regional leadership and success in making KC a business and lifestyle destination are just two of the reasons I am honored to work with and support the team. I greatly look forward to leading the KCADC Board with Chuck Caisley and celebrating a successful 2017.”

Privitera Biondo and Caisley will lead the council’s industry growth initiatives focused on talent attraction, biosciences, technology, advanced manufacturing and supply chain/logistics throughout Kansas City’s two-state region.

“The missions of KCADC and KCP&L are perfectly aligned in that both organizations have a regional focus," said Caisley. “I am proud to lead with Rosie Privitera Biondo, and be a part of KCADC’s impact on the growth of the greater KC area.”

Privitera Biondo succeeds John Murphy, chairman of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, who served as KCADC’s senior board co-chair for the past two years.

During Murphy's two-year term as co-chair, the KC region gained $867 million in new investment. This resulted in approximately 7,537 new jobs and $314 million in payroll. Notable announcements included 11 bioscience/animal health related projects; more than 1.5 million sq. ft. for the location of two Amazon.com distribution centers in the region; the location of Virgin Mobile USA's headquarters; and custom interactive technology firm The Nerdery adding 100 new tech focused jobs to the area.

KCADC also welcomed several new members to its board, including: Tony Berg, The Kansas City Star; Lisa Bowman, Bank Midwest; Kipp Cooper, Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS; Jerry Giffin, Aerotek, Inc.; Dr. Doug Girod, University of Kansas Medical Center; Gary Jankowitz, Bank of America, N.A.; Dr. John Jasinski, Northwest Missouri State University; Jim Kissick, Kissick Construction Company; Ray Kowalik, Burns & McDonnell; Patt Lilly, Representing St. Joseph, Missouri; Shawn Long, University of Kansas Hospital; Mike Maddox, CrossFirst Bank; Jean Moore, Representing Gladstone, Missouri; John Ricciardelli, Honeywell FM&T; Clint Robinson, Black & Veatch; Greg Schwerdt, Representing Topeka, Kansas; Anne St. Peter, Global Prairie; Greg Westbrook, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Michael Wilkes, Representing Olathe, Kansas and David Zimmer, Newmark Grubb Zimmer.

KCADC board members serve limited terms on a rotating basis - one year for community representatives and two years for corporate representatives. Each year the KCADC board of directors elects new board members to replace those completing their service.
