Tim Cowden | President and CEO


Tim leads the strategic direction and vision for KCADC from day-to-day operations to investor and client relationships. He has more than 25 years of experience in economic development. Prior to joining KCADC in 1998, Tim gained experience in the private sectors of real estate and business management. Tim has worked with numerous companies, including ATS, Farmer's Insurance, Mars Chocolate North America, MindMixer, Sedgwick LLP and U.S. Bank. Read More


Sandi Ramsey | CFO & Director of Human Resources



Sandi is responsible for managing all financial, human resources and benefits, and risk management for KCADC, the KCADC Foundation, KCnext and Kansas City SmartPort. Sandi has over 20 years of administration and accounting experience. Sandi has a degree from Alaska Pacific University in English, specializing in technical writing. Sandi joined KCADC in 1995.

Jennifer Lyon | Vice President, Investor Relations

Jennifer serves as the primary point-of-contact for KCADC's 250+ investor members. She coordinates programs, events and communication to engage and involve investors in KCADC's business recruitment, marketing and talent recruitment initiatives. Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kansas. She joined KCADC in 2003.

Megan Segura | Director, Special Projects


Megan bridges business development, marketing and research efforts to proactively promote KCADC and its initiatives through industry analysis, content creation and lead generation. She has nearly 10 years experience in economic development and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Louisiana State University. Megan joined KCADC in 2016.

Dana Morris | Manager, Finance & Human Resources


Dana has worked in the accounting field for more than 15 years, which included experience in the banking industry and for the past nine years with an architecture firm. Dana joined KCADC's Administration Division as a Finance Specialist in September 2011.

Darcy Groce | Executive Assistant & Office Manager



Darcy provides administrative support for the President and CEO as well as KCADC's Board of Directors. She is also in charge of KCADC's office management operations. Darcy has 20 years experience supporting senior level executives. She joined KCADC in 2015.

Business Development

Jill McCarthy | Senior Executive, Corporate Attraction


Jill has more than 20 years of experience in economic development - specializing in regional business recruitment across multiple disciplines such as data centers, shared service centers, customer service operations, manufacturing, distribution and headquarters projects. Additionally, Jill leads several of KCADC's outreach and hosting events, briefings and site visits. Jill has worked with companies such as Dex Media, LightEdge Solutions, Magna International, Martinrea International, OptumRx, U.S. Bank and the U.S. Marine Corps.

Cindy Brittain | Director, Research


Cindy leads KCADC's research efforts providing various data and comparative analysis in support of KCADC's business recruitment efforts. Cindy has expert knowledge of appropriate resources and tools for gathering accurate data. Cindy joined KCADC in 1996.

McKenna Brown | Coordinator, Research



McKenna provides research, analysis and information on the Greater Kansas City area in support of KCADC’s business attraction efforts. McKenna has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Global and International Studies from the University of Kansas. She joined KCADC in 2016.


Martin Mini | CMO



Martin leads a team of talented marketing professionals with a national reputation for excellence in place branding. KCADC’s marketing group is focused on promoting the 18-county KC area of 2.5 million to site consultants and location advisors worldwide. They combine strategic communications, impactful design, engaging events and a powerful web presence to tell KC’s story. Martin has led high-profile regional campaigns like OneKC and ACC, and helped to create KC’s target industry initiatives, including TeamKC: Life + Talent. Jonathan Knecht | Vice President, Marketing & Creative Director



Jonathan is the creative director for KCADC’s marketing team. He is the architect of KCADC’s brand family centered around the red “KC ball”. Jon leads the creative strategy, design and production of branded marketing campaigns and events that elevate KC’s image in the national media and increase awareness of its vibrant economy and creative culture.  Jonathan has more than 20 years of advertising and marketing experience. He attended Syracuse University and received a BFA in Design from the Kansas City Art Institute.

Ashlie Hand | Vice President, Communications



Ashlie oversees all KCADC's communications, including digital, print and event messaging, and manages all local and national media outreach. She has nearly 20 years experience in economic development and public relations. Ashlie is an accredited public relations practitioner by the Public Relations Society of America and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loras College. She joined KCADC in 1999.

Jauqui Craig | Director, Events & Marketing



Jauqui coordinates and manages all events and video production for KCADC and its initiatives, including annual meetings, Full Council Investor Briefings and client visits. She also leads the America’s Creative Crossroads Campaign, overseeing the addition of new portraits and traveling gallery. Jauqui has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She joined KCADC in 2005.

Angela Orr | Manager, Digital Communications


Angela oversees social media strategy and execution, and directly assists in the development of digital and traditional communications for KCADC and its industry growth initiatives. She also contributes to national and regional media outreach. Angela has a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Central Missouri. She joined KCADC in 2014.

Kara Brock | Manager, Design

Kara executes and manages graphic design projects for KCADC and all initiatives in traditional and digital media. Her work has been acknowledged by several industry awards including IABC KC Quills, the Business Marketing Association, Non-Profit Connect Philly Awards and Hermes. Kara joined KCADC in 2016.

KC Animal Health Corridor

Kimberly Young | President, KC Animal Health Corridor


Kimberly Young is the "go-to" person for life sciences and manages the day to day operations of the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor (KCAHC). Kimberly held senior leadership positions at the State and Regional level before joining KCADC in 2011. Kim holds a B.S. degree from Pittsburg State University and graduated from the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute in 2007.

Emily McVey | Director, KC Animal Health Corridor


Emily is responsible for assisting with the implementation of the KC Animal Health Corridor’s strategic priorities and directly manages the KCAHC's workforce development initiative. She is also responsible for assisting with investor relations and strategic growth initiatives for KCAHC. Emily has a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University and joined the KC Animal Health Corridor in 2011.

Chris Gutierrez | President, KC SmartPort

Chris is the President of KC SmartPort, Inc., a KCADC affiliate organization focused on attracting freight based economic development to the greater Kansas City region and providing thought leadership to the supply chain industry in Kansas City. Chris has been active in economic development and logistics for over 25 years. He joined KC SmartPort in 2003.

Morgan Bell | Manager, Business Development


Morgan manages marketing and business attraction efforts for KC SmartPort. She also leads KC SmartPort’s workforce development initiative. Morgan has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She joined KC SmartPort in 2015.

TeamKC: Life+Talent

Jessica Nelson | Managing Director, TeamKC: Life+Talent


Jessica leads TeamKC: Life+Talent, KCADC’s talent recruitment initiative. She oversees an advisory board of global HR executives and works with KC’s top employers, helping them tell KC’s story throughout the recruiting process. Jessica has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Kansas. She joined KCADC in 2011.
