Cerner’s Erin Dill to serve as co-chair with KPMG’s Kyri Gorges
Kansas City Region – This morning, the Kansas City Area Development Council officially welcomed its newly-elected co-chair and nine new members to the TeamKC: Life+Talent Advisory Board. Erin Dill, senior team lead for Cerner Careers at Cerner, will join Kyri Gorges, college relations manager at KPMG LLP, as leaders of the board.
“Cerner’s relationship with TeamKC has been beneficial in many ways – from showcasing our fabulous city to candidates to providing our recruiters with specialized tools to get the best talent,” said Dill. “I’m excited to help lead this initiative to drive continued growth for Cerner and our entire region.”
Dill and Gorges will help guide KCADC’s TeamKC staff on regional and national trends in recruiting talent at all levels of employment, as well as specific challenges and opportunities in attracting top talent to work for companies in the KC region.
"TeamKC has helped create a competitive advantage to attract talent to the Kansas City region,” said Gorges. “Though we all represent different companies, by bringing new talent to the region, we all win. You won’t find a group like TeamKC in other markets.”
Dill succeeds Erin Roebuck, creative talent development specialist for Hallmark Cards, Inc., who served as TeamKC Advisory Board co-chair for the past three years. Roebuck will remain on the Advisory Board as a member.
During Roebuck’s three-year term as co-chair, TeamKC formalized the advisory board; produced the 10th annual edition of KC Options magazine, the most successful issue to date; developed InternKC, a program to get interns “sticky” to KC; launched TeamKC.com; partnered with KC Rising, the region’s long-term economic growth plan; and complemented KCADC’s efforts in attracting nearly $409 million in payroll to the KC region.
TeamKC also welcomed several new members to its advisory board, including: Tara Boldridge, Russell Stover Candies; Shannon Chapman, Lexmark; Rebecca Christie, UMB Bank; John McLaughlin, Black & Veatch; Derrick Miller, Sungevity; Maria O’Dell, Group O’Dell; Stephanie Smithmier, Morgan Hunter Companies; Abby Ventrillo, VML; Carolyn Walters, H&R Block.
The TeamKC 2016-17 members join the following current board members: Michelle Cormack, Garmin International, Inc.; Monica Delaorra, University of Kansas Edwards Campus; Steven Green, State Street; Jennifer Parker, Burns & McDonnell; Jennifer Schnack, AMC Theatres; Cherie Zeier, Sedgwick, LLP.
TeamKC board members serve limited terms on a rotating basis - one year for service providers and community partners and two years for corporate representatives.
