Marcusse leaves a “purpose-built” organization for the next generation
KC Region – The Board of Directors of the Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC) announced today that after 25 years as President and CEO, Bob Marcusse will retire on Jan. 31, 2016. KCADC is the organization focused on new business attraction for the 18-county, two-state Kansas City area.
Bob Marcusse built a strong track record of success at KCADC that has laid the groundwork for the next generation of leadership to carry the organization well into the future,” said John Murphy, chairman of Shook, Hardy & Bacon and senior co-chair, KCADC Board of Directors. “KCADC is a purpose-built organization, led by a coalition of the willing and supported by a foundation of achievement and accountability. It will remain focused on its core mission to promote our business and lifestyle assets and will continue to drive net new job growth through the attraction of new companies and new talent to the Kansas City region.”
Under the leadership of Marcusse, KCADC established one of the country’s strongest regional economic development partnerships among 18 counties in Kansas and Missouri. During his tenure, KCADC was ranked by its clients as the No. 1 regional economic development organization in the U.S. in 2014. In addition, together with its regional partners, KCADC has attracted companies pledging to create more than 40,000 new jobs, and nearly $5 billion in capital investment while Marcusse was president and CEO.

Marcusse will remain in the role of CEO until Jan. 31, 2016, and continue on at KCADC in a consulting role until later in the year. A national search is being completed to fill the role of KCADC president and CEO, with an announcement expected in mid-November 2015. About KCADC
