Icelandair’s non-stop service from Kansas City to Keflavik International Airport in Reyjavik kicks off Memorial Day weekend as the first non-stop transatlantic service in KCI’s history. This new service adds a competitive advantage for business and leisure travelers flying out of KCI – and a successful summer season puts KC in the best position possible to secure even more transatlantic air service. We encourage the broader KC area business community to consider Icelandair for upcoming overseas business or personal travel plans. Here are a few reasons why:

  • Direct flight to Reyjavik with connections to nearly 30 European destinations. A dozen European destinations will be reachable within an hour and a half layover at convenient Keflavik International.
  • Conveniently clear customs in KC—particularly of value on return trip from Europe allowing KC bound passengers to skip hassle of passport control in larger airports such as Chicago, New York and Atlanta.
  • If successful, Icelandair will consider maintaining this service and adding more service from KCI
  • This is also a first step toward regular international service from KCI. If other airlines see success for Icelandair, they will more strongly consider service from KCI as well.
  • You will be helping the KC region's ability to grow as a business and lifestyle destination.
  • There may be some cost-saving benefits to European destinations.

Visit Icelandair to get flight information and book your trip.
