Policy Update | Legislative Highlights 2015-2016

KCnext advocates for tech-related policies on a federal level through a partnership with CompTIA Advocacy. 

CompTIA recently posted a recap of legislative activity in 2015, including the following highlights:
  • Extension of the Internet Tax Freedom Act
  • Congress passed the Trade Promotion Authority
  • Extension of the Export-Import Bank until mid-2016
  • Permanent extension of the R&D tax credit and five-year extension of provisions that will specifically benefit small tech companies
  • Congress advanced a cybersecurity information sharing bill 
  • The White House successfully negotiated the Trans Pacific Partnership
