Northwest Missouri State University

Northwest Missouri State University has provided high-quality, hands-on education since 1905. Founded as the Fifth District Normal School, Northwest has evolved into a state-assisted, four-year regional institution with an enrollment of nearly 8,000 students and more than 700 faculty and staff. Its more than 120 undergraduate programs and 50 graduate and certificate academic offerings include distinctive programs in agriculture, business, education, and science that are offered at the beautiful 370-acre main campus in Maryville, Missouri, the Northland Innovation Center in Gladstone, Missouri, and Northwest Online.

The Northwest campus includes its 46,679-square-foot Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, an Agricultural Learning Center opened in 2021 on the 448-acre R.T. Wright farm, and the 315-acre Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area. Each facility provides faculty and students opportunities for academic research and profession-based learning activities. Along with programming in nanotechnology, animal science, and emergency and disaster management, these facilities provide support to students, faculty, and area industries. Northwest provides multiple customized training and non-credit professional development opportunities, and actively partners with the Nodaway County Economic Development and Small Business Development Center to better serve business clients.
