KCADC Board Welcomes 2018 Leadership

by Lexi Ryan | Jan 10, 2018

This morning, the Kansas City Area Development Council officially welcomed Chuck Caisley, vice president of marketing and public affairs for KCP&L, as senior co-chair of the KCADC Board of Directors. Caisley is joined by newly-elected co-chair Beth Soukup, CFO of JE Dunn Construction, and 14 additional members for the 2018 board year.

“I’m incredibly proud to have a leadership role with KCADC, it’s an organization that is second to none,” said Caisley. “Not just here in our KC region, but at a national level. KCADC is built on a promise to represent the 18-county, two-state region in making a destination for business and talented people.”

Caisley and Soukup will lead KCADC’s team of professionals, ranked first in the U.S. among regional economic development groups, to engage the world to invest in our OneKC region.

“I love KCADC’s presence in our regional footprint, and KCADC would not be the organization it is without our regional economic development partners,” said Soukup. “We know that a culture of partnership is what works and brings our region the most success. I am proud to help lead our OneKC partnership, one of the strongest and most successful in the country.”

Caisley succeeds Rosie Privitera Biondo, president of MarkOne Electric Company, who served as KCADC’s board co-chair for the past two years.

During Privitera Biondo's two-year term as co-chair, the KC region gained $630 million in new investment, resulting in nearly 7,000 new jobs. Notable announcements included numerous bioscience/animal health related projects; more than 1.5 million sq. ft. for the location of two Amazon.com distribution centers in the region; the location of Virgin Mobile USA's headquarters; and strategic locations for Dollar Tree, CVS Pharmacy, Hy-Vee and more.

KCADC also welcomed several new members to its board, including: Jay Felton, Lathrop & Gage; Gregg Givens, DST Systems, Inc.; Erik Hansen, KC Southern, representing KC SmartPort; Dale Klose, PNC Bank; Mark Larrabee, Arvest Bank; Maria Maffry, BNIM; Michael Mayer, Cushman & Wakefield; Richard Muller, VanTrust Real Estate, LLC; Jennifer Parker, Burns & McDonnell, representing TeamKC; Todd Pleimann, Rubin Brown LLP; Stacie Prosser, Kansas City Business Journal; Jim Rine, UMB Bank, n.a.; Zoraya Rowlands, Port KC and Bill White, White & Associates Real Estate Services.
