Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art

Established in 1995 as one of Kansas City's first cultural institutions, this art museum houses a rich collection of modern and contemporary art. The Kemper Museum boasts, in addition to its permanent collection, many temporary exhibitions, installations, performance work, film and video series, lectures, concerts, children's workshops, and other creative programs. At the heart of the museum is the permanent collection, with a compilation of artists and mediums displayed. Some of the artists represented are Jasper Johns, Frank Stella, William Wegman, Georgia O'Keefe, Willem de Kooning, and Robert Mapplethorpe.
