Johnson County Airport Commission
The Johnson County Airport Commission oversees New Century
AirCenter and Johnson County Executive Airport. New Century AirCenter is home to
a 2,300-acre multimodal industrial park and general aviation airport offering a
7,400 foot long, 200 foot wide runway, a non-fed control tower, ILS approach and
full service FBO.
The Airport Commission is a one-stop shop for development
projects at New Century AirCenter. Located 30 minutes southwest of downtown
Kansas City along Interstate 35, New Century AirCenter has its own railroad and
certified weigh in motion rail scale off the BNSF mainline.
Over 400 acres of land are under long-term land leases with
over 1,000 acres available from 1-160 acres to fit a client's needs. The Airport
Commission has statutory authority to issue Industrial Revenue Bonds and develop
incentive packages. Dependable utilities, nationally ranked educational
institutions, an available workforce and affordable housing provide a sound
cornerstone for companies looking at Johnson County.
