Central Exchange is a membership organization that provides the venue and voice for women seeking to reach their full personal and professional potential. Our more than 900 members represent a cross-section of women and men from throughout the metropolitan area. They include managers and executives from area corporations and nonprofit organizations, business owners, and community volunteers.
We present over 400 programs a year for members at our two facilities in the metropolitan area. The programs are generally over the noon hour or first thing in the morning and include a meal. They cover a full range of topics and speakers from leadership and professional development, to building and growing a small business, to series featuring area CEOs, successful women, young leaders, and business and civic leaders moving the Kansas City region forward economically. All programs provide an opportunity for members to connect with one another and key individuals in the community.
Last year Central Exchange launched a community-wide campaign to increase gender diversity at the top of our area corporations based on the strong business case that meaningful gender diversity increases profitability and innovation. Called win|win, the goal of this campaign is for 20% of the boards of directors and executive officers of our area companies to be female by 2015. More than 60 area organizations and companies have become supporters and include the Greater Kansas City and Overland Park Chambers of Commerce, the Kansas City Area Development Council, Hallmark, Sprint, YRC and H&R Block. For a full list of supporters and more information about this campaign, go to www.winwinkc.com.
Our locations are at 1020 Central in downtown Kansas City and at 6201 College Blvd. in Overland Park.
