We are very excited to share insights from Nathan Orr, chairman of Spencer Fane Britt & Browne’s charitable giving and hiring committees on our blog this week. Nathan’s group has taken an innovative approach to incorporating KC’s creativity and metropolitan lifestyle into the experience for their summer associates at the law firm.
Creativity is in Kansas City’s DNA, and it’s in Spencer Fane Britt & Browne’s as well. It is important for us to share this innovative spirit with our new summer associates, so we decided to team up with our client Centric Projects for an out-of-the-box celebration for our summer associate kick-off.
We really wanted to demonstrate the firm’s commitment to the arts, innovation and collaborative efforts with clients. Centric Projects is one of KC’s newest and most creative commercial construction companies, with a prime location in the Crossroads Arts District and uniquely modern space. This made it a perfect backdrop for our celebration.
We chose to host the event during one of KC’s First Friday events so that our summer associates had the chance to mingle and get acquainted with our clients and partners in a fun, creative atmosphere. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to take in some of KC’s most creative assets- companies, entrepreneurs, artists, chefs, musicians and business leaders all featured in the Crossroads Arts District.

SFBB shared maps and notebooks with staff to explore the First Friday events in the Crossroads Arts District.
As we progress through the next few months, SFBB is looking forward to showing our summer associates how the KC region is a mashup of artistry and technology, and why Kansas City is a uniquely creative place to start a career.
