RubinBrown Named Fastest Growing Accounting Firm in Midwest

Occasionally we will use this blog to announce regionally or nationally significant news from our KCADC investor partners – recognitions, major new clients, executive announcements or major growth news. Most of us wouldn’t put “accounting” and “creativity” in the same category – if used incorrectly, creative accounting could land you in a bad place. However, sometimes creativity within the accounting industry lands you in a top ranking position. This is the case with RubinBrown. One of Kansas City’s top ten largest accounting firms, RubinBrown expanded into the Kansas City region in late 2005. We are pleased to bring you commentary from Todd Pleimann, managing partner of RubinBrown’s Kansas City office on the firm’s recent 14 percent growth rate, bucking the Midwest trend for 2011.

We are thrilled to announce that RubinBrown has been named the fastest growing accounting firm in the Midwest by the national trade magazine, Accounting Today.

Our office has seen a tremendous amount of growth since we first entered Kansas City, starting with 17 employees. We see a great need for our services, especially in the local life sciences, public sector, not-for-profit and real estate sectors as those are the areas that are booming in the Kansas City region.

The Midwest ranked last on Accounting Today’s list of the 10 regions to be an accountant based on growth rate. The publication noted, “The Midwest lagged the rest of the regions and even managed to grow less in 2011 than it did in 2010.” RubinBrown, however, broke the Midwest’s trend of 1.11 percent average growth by increasing revenue by nearly 14 percent in 2011.

Kansas City is a hub of growth and experience in several major industries and trades. It’s great to be among the local firms being commended nationally. Our region is full of innovative and creative entrepreneurs who are taking large strides to improving the Midwest and Kansas City’s future.
