Congratulations to our partners in Lawrence, Kansas on today’s announcement that PLASTIKON will locate a new production facility creating 126 new jobs.
Subject to a due diligence period and incentive approval process, Plastikon will purchase a 40,000-sq.-ft. biopharmaceutical production facility formerly occupied by Serologicals, Inc., in Lawrence’s East Hills Business Park. Plastikon will produce a sterile fluid product for the medical and healthcare industry, investing more than $7 million in the project.
Plastikon also considered facilities in Chicago and South Carolina for this project. They plan to be operational in the second quarter of 2011.
KCADC Partners:
Lynn Parman, vice president of bioscience development, led this project (known as Project Plastic) for KCADC.
